Ontario Midland has served freight customers since 1979. Today, OMID operates across Wayne and Monroe Counties, supporting businesses from the Newark and Sodus area west toward the Rochester market.
The railroad's role is straightforward: provide dependable local rail service, maintain access to the national freight network through CSX, and help customers use rail through direct service, transload, storage, and industrial-development opportunities.

In 2022, Ontario Midland became affiliated with the LA&L railroad family. Eugene H. Blabey II helped shape that broader organization through a belief in local rail service, customer relationships, reinvestment, and long-term stewardship.
That approach fits OMID well. Rail infrastructure is built and maintained over decades, and the railroad's value comes from continuing to support the industries and communities along the line as their needs change.
